CHAIRMAN'S REPORT SEPTEMBER 2007

Road Signs.
Norfolk County Council have been contacted about the village road signs which are still missing or require replacement.
We were promised an update letter by the end of July, but this has not yet been received.

We only had one volunteer come forward for the voluntary speed camera watch organised by the local police, so we are still looking for more volunteers. Call me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.

There is another speed watch initiative called SAM - Speed Awareness Message - and we have requested a visit to Hickling.
The SAM equipment records the speed of every passing vehicle within the set threshold and also provides vehicle flow data to the parishes and areas visited.
There is already quite a waiting list, so it may be a long wait.

Another reminder about the Village Fete - a committee must be set up soon for this project to go ahead. If anyone is interested in taking this on or helping in any way,
please contact me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.

The St John Ambulance group would be willing to organise a first aid course in Hickling, evenings or Saturday mornings, at a cost of £238 +VAT for up to 12 people.
This would include a certificate valid for three years, all training and a book.
If anyone is interested, again contact me or Shirley.

The next Parish Council meeting is in the Community Hall at 7.15pm on the 1 st of October,
and then on the 5th of November and 3rd of December.
All parishioners are encouraged to attend.
