CHAIRMAN'S REPORT SEPTEMBER 2005

The election of two new councillors on to the Parish Council did not take place at the last Parish meeting, due to unforeseen circumstances that required verification before proceeding. This has now been rectified so the selection will go ahead at the next Parish Council meeting which has been changed from the 3rd of October to the 10th of October.

The Parish Plan is progressing towards the next step of producing the questionnaire. Although a few people have volunteered, we do need some more. Even a few hours would be helpful, as this then lightens the load for everyone. So please contact either Shirley or me for more information.

The Staithe Forum meeting was cancelled on 13th September and has been rescheduled for 11th October, to enable the various groups more time to develop their proposed plans for the Staithe.

The Trafalgar Weekend, 21 st - 23rd October, is being celebrated across the country. On Friday evening, 21st October at 7pm there will be a beacon lit on the Recreation Ground and St Mary's church bells will ring in celebration of the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar. A church service will be taken by Rev'd N Khambatta at St Mary's Church on Sunday, 23rd October.

Norfolk Constabulary have informed the council of the new Police Community Support Officer, PCSO 8167 Green, based at North Walsham, contactable on 01692-401138 who will work alongside our Liaison Officer PC1378 Gwynn who is based at Stalham Police station.
The Mobile Police Van will be visiting Hickling on Friday, 21st October.
They will be parked at the Chapel Car Park from 10.15am-12.30pm.

The next Parish Council meeting is on 10th October in the Community Hall at 7.15pm.
All are very welcome to attend.
