PARISH COUNCIL
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT -
November 2008
Please read HEARA's report under Village News.
Ken & Eric have been very busy this last month with meetings and keeping
everyone updated with the latest news via the website. At least one of
them attends the monthly parish council meetings to report on recent and
upcoming events.
The yearly precept has been increased by £365 for the period 2009/2010
to help fund HEARA in their quest to protect Hickling from flooding -
this equates to less than £1 per year per household.
We would like to remind parishioners about clearing up after their dogs
whilst walking around the village. There was an incident with dog fouling
outside the Community Hall recently, and in the dark evenings it's harder
to avoid stepping in it and then taking it indoors on your shoes.
If you haven't received your copy of the Village Plan please contact the
Clerk on 598882 who will post a copy to you.
A reminder that our Police Community Safety Officer's name in Jeanette
Hawes, and her contact number is 0845 4564567.
Many thanks go to David & Amanda Skinner and their friends for the
clear-up day at the Chapel Pit in October. They all worked extremely hard,
and thanks to John Tallowin who provided the trailer. All their time and
hard work is very much appreciated by the Parish Council.
We have received information from the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable
Trust about wherry tours during the year, and whether an event being organised
would benefit from having the wherry 'Hathor' included in the event. She
will be taking a well-earned break for a few seasons after this year,
so this may be the last chance to see her for some time. Please contact
the Clerk, Shirley, on 598882 for further information.
Parish Clerk - we would like to congratulate Shirley Chapman and Brian
Sainsbury on their recent marriage and wish them all the best for the
future.
Please note that Shirley has now changed her surname to Sainsbury.
Please note the change of date for the next Parish Council meeting to
Monday, the 1 st of December, at 7.15pm in the Community Hall.
You are all welcome to attend.
The Parish Council would like to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.
