PARISH COUNCIL
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
As Christmas is fast approaching, a reminder about the bottle banks. The
Pleasure Boat Inn have kindly donated all the proceeds from the new bottle
bank situated in their car park to the Parish Council. The Council received
£838 for the recycling of bottles for the last financial year, so
it is worth doing. If the bottle banks at both locations are full, take
your bottles home and ring either myself on 598410 or Shirley on 598882
to get the banks emptied at either location.
PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE BOTTLES BESIDE THE BANKS.
The parish benches have been removed for winter storage and general maintenance
before being returned in the spring.
The Council would like to thank Peter Sparks for the organising and storage
of the benches.
There are many hedges around the village that border parishioners' properties
and which require trimming back as they are overhanging the highways.
This is potentially dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists alike, especially
in the dark evenings. The Council would like to remind parishioners that
Norfolk County Council do not automatically trim these hedges anymore,
so please check your hedge before an accident occurs.
Paston College is again running free computer classes, starting on January
19th for three consecutive weeks at the Community Hall.
For more details, contact Lindsay Slater on 01263 519454 or
e-mail: johnmorgan@north-norfolk.gov.uk.
Slimming World at the Community Hall on Thursday evenings is proving to
be very popular.
Once again, see the notices around the village or contact Barbara on 01692584238.
The Police Mobile Unit's next visit is at the Chapel Car Park on Friday,
16th December from 10.15am to 12.30pm. A reminder that our Parish Liaison
Officer for Hickling is PC1378 Gwynn based at Stalham police station,
contactable on 01692 401155 or via Norfolk Constabulary Non-Emergency
number 0845 4564567.
The next Parish Council meeting is 12th December at 7.15pm in the Community
Hall. All parishioners are welcome to attend.
The Council would like to wish everyone in Hickling a very Happy Christmas
and a Prosperous New Year.
