PARISH CHAIRMAN'S
REPORT June 2009
The Parish Council has received complaints from
parishioners whose properties back onto the recreation ground about damage
done to a greenhouse by a golf ball, and fences damaged by footballs.
Although we want the ground to be used, please be aware of the dangers
of any type of ball games near people's properties, and take into account
how far the balls can travel.
We will be putting a notice on the goal posts asking people to use the
main goal posts instead to help with the problem.
If you see anyone acting irresponsibly, please contact me or the Clerk
who will try and deal with the situation at the time.
There will be six proper bus stops installed in the village in August,
as the County Council wish to stop the practice of "Hail and Stop"
on safety grounds.
The stops will be placed at the Chapel Pit (one either side of the road),
on either side of the entrance to Broadlands Road, and at the crossroads
(one by the seat and the other just past the post box).
They will include raised kerbs and textured paving to make it easier for
people with restricted mobility.
Although the notice mentions services 12X and 36 only, it may apply to
other services.
The Clerk has reported the following signs being in need of attention
by the Highways Department: Stalham Road, Barnfield Close, Ouse Lane,
Mill Close and The Causeway, but it may take some months before we see
any results.
The compressor sale received three bids of £52.10, £52 and
£52.50, so was sold to the highest bidder.
All councillors present at the meeting agreed to accept the highest bid
before the bids were opened.
The next Parish Council Meeting will be held
at 7.15pm in the Community Hall on Monday, 13th July.
Please note - there will be no Parish Council meeting in August as the
council do a survey of all parish property for any repairs/work required.
