PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - JULY 2008
Members from the Parish Council, along with Ken and Eric (HEARA) had a very successful meeting with Environment Minister Phil Woolas, firstly when he visited Hickling and afterwards at Lessingham, when they joined with NENCPG
We were very pleased to hear him say to the media that Hickling and the surrounding area would not be allowed to flood and defences will be held for 50 years plus. This was a great result after everyone's time and effort. Our thanks go again to Eric and Ken for working so hard for Hickling residents.
There are ongoing negotiations for them to ensure we have a voice in any proposals put forward in the future. See HEARA's report elsewhere in our News Sheet.

There is a new bus service - No. 36 - which will be in operation from 28th July.
See the details on the notice board at the Chapel Pit, and make use of this service.

If you have any proposals for the Structural Review of Norfolk and Suffolk, please write to the Boundary Committee before 26th September. All your views are important.
The address to write to is
The Norfolk/Suffolk Review Officer, The Boundary Committee for England, Trevelyan House, Great Peter Street, LONDON SW1P 2HW, or e-mail: reviews@boundarvcommittee.orq.uk.

The next Parish Council meeting will be in the Community Hall on Monday, 1st of Sept at 7.15pm.

All are very welcome to attend.
