CHAIRMAN'S
REPORT JULY 2006
There have been a few minor accidents involving cars and pedestrians
on the part of Stubb Road leading up to the Nature Reserve. This road
is very narrow at places and the driver's vision is limited. The Parish
Council are going to investigate the possibility of getting the 3Omph
speed limit extended, but would like to ask all parishioners to drive
with due care and attention, especially along this stretch of road.
The Parish Council would also like to remind everyone who uses the Recreation
Ground to shut the gates at all times. There are reports of travellers
visiting the Great Yarmouth area. Additionally, as it's a large gate,
it means extra wear and tear on the hinges by leaving it open.
We are hoping to have a Village Plan Presentation (provisionally and
to be confirmed closer to the dates) on Friday, 1st September from 7-9pm
and Saturday, 2nd September from 10-12am and 2-4pm in the Community
Hall. The presentation will be the same for each two-hour slot.
This will consist of data collated from the questionnaires and will
be an opportunity for parishioners to put forward any queries they may
have.
Parish Councillors will be at each meeting, but you can forward your
query beforehand to either me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882, There
will be a lot more discussions and meetings before the Village plan
is in draft form or before any item is taken forward. Please keep a
look out for posters nearer the time confirming the dates.
The Parish Staithe Wet Berth Waiting List has been distributed and must
be returned no later than 31st July. If you have not received your letter,
although you are on the list - or would like to be added to the list
- please contact Shirley, the Clerk, on 598882.
The next visit of the Mobile Police Van is at the Chapel Car-Park on
Friday, 25th August from 10.15am to 12.30pm.
The Parish Council will not meet in August.
The next meeting will be on the 4th of September in the Community Hall
at 7.15pm.
