PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - JANUARY 2008

We had a very good turnout for the viewing of the building plans for a new Community Centre etc. on 19th January.
If any parishioner missed this viewing and would like to see the plans, please contact either myself on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.

The Parish Council donated £25 to the North Walsham Citizens Advice Bureau, which was very much appreciated.
The CAB now visits the Stalham & Happing Shop in Stalham High Street every Tuesday, but by appointment only. Contact the S&H Shop for further details, or call 01692 405847.

On 1 st January the new Dog Control Orders - The Fouling of Land by Dogs Order 2008 - came into force.
The order makes it a requirement of all dog owners to clear up after their dogs at all times.
Failure to do so will result in a Fixed Penalty Notice of £80.

The SAM (Speed Awareness Message) project has visited Hickling twice, with another visit to come. I expect some parishioners have already seen it.
The results will be available to us and should give an indication as to whether there is a speeding problem on the road through Hickling.

Small brick rubble is required for an area at the Parish Staithe.
If anyone has any to spare, please contact Harry Nudd on 598454.

The next Parish Council meeting is in the Community Hall at 7.15pm on the 4th of February.
All are welcome.
