PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who put forward various ideas for the papers/shop in the village. The council will be liasing with Darren & Julie shortly to try and resolve the problem as soon as possible.

The ongoing project of a flower bed around the village sign should be completed this spring, but as it is being undertaken voluntarily it has had to fit in with other commitments.

Norfolk County Council Adult Education have published their Spring & Summer 2006 course listings brochures. A poster has been put in the Gwen Amis Board at the Staithe and the local library has details, or phone 0844 800 8002 for further details.

The Norfolk Police Authority is advertising for Independent Custody Visitors.
The task of Custody Visitors is to make unannounced visits to Police Stations to observe, comment and to report on conditions under which persons are detained.
Application forms and further particulars are available by phoning 01953 424455 or for address to write to contact Parish Clerk, Shirley on 598882.

The Police Mobile Unit's next visit is at the Chapel Car Park on Friday 10th February from 10.15am to 12.30pm. A reminder our Parish Liaison Officer for Hickling, is PC1378 Gwynn based at Stalham police station, contactable on 01692 401155
or via Norfolk Constabulary Non-Emergency no. 0845 4564567.

There is a very successful website www.norfolk.police.uk which allows the members of the public to contact their local bobby and view other matters of interest.

Please re-consider whether you could spare a few hours every month/week for the grass cutting rota, the cost went down by £4k last year so it is a considerable saving.
Contact either myself on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.

If any correspondence/matter is to be brought before the Parish Council Monthly Meeting please ensure it is passed to the Clerk, Chairman or a councillor at least 7 days prior to the meeting.
Once the agenda is set this cannot be changed and the matter has to be deferred until the next meeting.
The next meeting dates can be found in the Village News Sheet.

The next Parish Council meeting is Monday 6th March at 7.15pm in the Community Hall.
