PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - FEBURAY 2008
The building plans for the sites in Hickling, comprising of the existing community hall, changing room plots and new community centre, have now been adjusted in accordance with the NNDC's Planning Office requirements, so we hope to submit the plans and relevant paperwork very shortly.
Once we have a decision from NNDC, the various costings will be undertaken and will be displayed at a public exhibition for all to see, so a final decision on the future of a hall in Hickling can be made and acted upon.

The Parish Council would like to remind everyone that DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED on the Recreation Ground at any time - this also applies to the Chapel Pit and Staithe areas.
These now come under the new Dog Control Orders that make it an offence and you can be prosecuted. It also makes it a requirement of all dog owners to clear up after their dogs at all times. Failure to do so will result in a Fixed Penalty Notice of £80.

Some parishioners will have received a leaflet about the Wind Turbine between Hickling and Catfield
The company, Windpower Renewables, are in touch with the Hickling Parish Council and have assured us that a public exhibition will be arranged so parishioners can voice their concerns and their questions will be answered.
This will be arranged in late May/early June.

Some Mums in the village have formed a group so they can apply for grants to improve the play area on the Recreation Ground, and at the moment, the outlook seems positive.
The Parish Council are backing them all the way and hopefully, with their enthusiasm and hard work, we will have some new play equipment shortly.
