CHAIRMAN'S REPORT FEBURARY 2007

The meeting about Home Security on the 15th of February was unfortunately cancelled on the night - due to the police officers not turning up! This was an oversight on their part and they have sent their apologies. Many thanks to those parishioners who did turn up and everyone will be informed when the meeting has been re-arranged.

The quay heading and slipway improvements have been completed, but the contractors will be returning to tidy up the area once the weather has improved - ie, when it stops raining!

The mound of dirt on the recreation ground is in the process of being removed and consequently this area is very muddy. Parents, please make your children aware of the dangers of falling earth and the ruts in the field.

A new seat has been placed at the village sign, as the old one was beyond repair. We still would like to have the back engraved with "HPC", so if there is anyone out there who could undertake the job, or knows of anyone else who would be interested, please ring either me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.
The Parish Council would like to thank Harvey Gibbons for installing the seat.

There has not been any further information about the mobile police van's visits to Hickling.
So if you have any problems, please contact the North Walsham Police Station on 01692 401095, or you can call me or Shirley.

Another reminder that elections will be held on 3rd May, which will include the election of the Parish Councillors for the next four years. There is a notice on the GAM board and, or course, anyone who is interested in standing for election can phone me for an informal chat about what is involved. Postal voting is also available by contacting NNDC on 01263 516046/516317. Applications must be receiving by the Electoral Officer no later than 18th April.

There are still some dry berth places available on the Parish Staithe.
If anyone is interested, please contact either Harry Nudd on 598454 or Shirley on 598882.
The wet berth moorings still have a waiting list, but once again, if anyone is interested in being added to the list, please contact Shirley.
If you do want a wet berth, you do have to be on the electoral roll to qualify.

The next Parish Council meeting is on 5th March in the Community Hall at 7.15pm.
The April meeting is on the 2nd of April, same time and place.

The Annual Parish Meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm in the Community Hall on the 30th of April.

The elections will be held on 3rd May in the Community Hall.
