PARISH COUNCIL
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT -
DECEMBER 2008
HEARA and the North East Norfolk Parish Councillors Group (NENPCG) are
still working hard to ensure all the relevant people and political parties
are aware that our 'problem' has not gone away. The Natural England report,
promised in October, has still not been published but we are assured that
some facts will be changed in our favour.
Let's hope 2009 proves
to be a turning point for our 'blighted villages'.
We are working on the Business Plan and relevant costs with regards to
the new Community Centre building on the recreation ground. We first have
to ensure it is a viable proposition, and secondly to enable grant applications
to be put forward.
A reminder about the bottle banks - if full please contact me or the Clerk
and we will arrange for them to be emptied. Please do not leave containers
or bottles around the banks.
Although we have had THINK signs erected at each end of the village to
help with the problem of speeding, we do still need volunteers for the
Speed Watch scheme. This initiative does work in keeping speeding down
in villages. You will not work in your own village and certainly do not
approach drivers in any respect.
If you feel you could spare a couple of hours, please contact the Clerk,
Shirley, who will let you have more information on the subject.
There has been a spate of vandalism in the village including a small tree
being sawn down purposely for no apparent reason. It will not recover.
A reminder that our Police Community Safety Officer is Jeanette Hawes
and her contact number is 0845 4564567,
Grass-Cutters - we would like to thank all our volunteer grass-cutters
for their hard work and time during the last season and for doing such
a fantastic job of keeping our grass areas cut. It is very much appreciated
by everyone.
The next Parish Council meeting is on Monday, 12th
January, at 7,15pm in the Community Hall,
All are very welcome to attend.
