PARISH COUNCIL
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT -
December 2007
VIEW THE PROPOSED PLANS FOR HICKLING!
The proposed plans for a new Community Centre, the existing Community
Hall, and plots at Mallard Way will be on view in the Community Hall on
Saturday, 19th January between 10am and 12noon.
We need these plans to be approved by North Norfolk District Council before
the Local Development Framework Paper becomes law, probably in mid-summer,
after which all future planning will be severely restricted or non-existent,
as we are in a flood plain area.
If this date is inconvenient to you and you wish to see the plans, please
contact me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882 for an alternative date. Please
try and come - and bring your family.
A few years ago, the Parish Council got an interest-free loan to purchase
a computer for the Clerk. This has now been superceded by another computer,
obtained via NNDC for the cost of petrol only. So the original one has
found a new home at Hickling School, who very much appreciate the gift
and will be using it in their new library when the building works are
completed.
We receive a police report from our local PCSO for Hickling.
This month's report contained: 2 x anti-social behaviour, 1 x road-related
offence, 1 x found dog, 1 x very smokey bonfire, 1 x theft of motor vehicle
- crimed, 1 x suspicious circumstances, and 1 x concern for safety.
If you have any problems, please remember that this is what the PCSOs
are for.
If you have any concerns, either call them direct on 0845 4564567 or call
Shirley or me.
We have received leaflets on a Sustainable Development Fund, run by the
Broads Authority, for a small grants scheme for community projects.
A leaflet has been placed on the Chapel Pit notice board, or contact either
Shirley or me.
All members of the Hickling Parish Council would like to wish everyone
a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
The next Parish Council meeting, to which all are invited, will be held
in the Community Hall at 7.15pm on Monday, 7th January.
