CHAIRMAN'S
REPORT DECEMBER 2006
The Parish Council have been notified that during December petrol cans/tanks
were stolen from at least five boats moored at the Parish Staithe. The
Wind Surfers gate padlock and chain were cut through and a petrol can
taken. Both incidents have been reported to the police, but if anyone
has any information about these matters, please contact the police direct
on 01692 401095 or the Staithe Warden on 598454.
We will be organising a public meeting with the Police Crime Reduction
Officer for advice on security of the home and contents towards the end
of January. When the date has been confirmed, notices will be placed in
the usual places, ie, GAM Board at the Staithe, the Methodist Church and
the Community Hall. If you have a specific problem that you would like
advice on, please contact either me on 598410 or Shirley on 598882 beforehand
and we will pass the information on to the officer concerned.
Age Concern are running two new projects in Norfolk, a Tele-Shopping Service
where they take your shopping order, deliver it to your door, even unpack
it for you if necessary, and a Tele-Club for the over 65's who wish to
broaden their social life. For more information, see the GAM Board at
the Staithe or ring 01263-823703.
The Audit Commission have signed off the Hickling Parish Council annual
accounts for 2005/6. The accounts can be viewed, by appointment only,
at Briarley Lodge, Stubb Road, tel 598882, or on the website: www.hickling-village-norfolk.co.uk
from the 10th of January.
Now the festive season is over, the bottle banks get very full. If you
notice they need attention, please don't leave bottles outside the banks,
but call the Clerk on 598882 or me on 598410.
The next mobile
police van is tentatively scheduled for Friday, 12th January.
The next Parish Council meeting is on 8th January at 7.15pm in the Community
Hall
The Hickling Parish Council would like to wish everyone a very Happy New
Year!
