PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
The Parish Council are sadden to hear of Darren & Julie's decision to shut the shop at the Staithe until further notice, but appreciate the difficulties they are facing.
If anyone is interested in taking this further or have any viable ideas please contact either myself Viv Tallowin on 598410 or Shirley on 598882

The Village Plan that began with a display in the Community Hall is progressing, albeit a little slower than anticipated but the questionnaire should be delivered to all parishioners by the end of February. We would like all residents to complete the questionnaire as all views are valued. It will be hand delivered and collected by the same person so if you are having problems in completing the questionnaire please feel free to either speak with that person or contact either myself Viv Tallowin on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.

Some parishioners are concerned about the parking outside the village school that causes congestion. The appropriate department has investigated this and they will be arranging for improved road markings outside the school, but as this work is weather dependant it may be some months before the work takes place.

An invite to advertise for free in the Broadcaster Newspaper for any events taking place in Hickling in 2006 has been received. All contributions are welcome. If you would like your event to be included, please contact the Clerk, Shirley on 598882. The closing date is 20th January 2006.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED - For the 2006 grass cutting rota around the village and for helping with the Village Plan from proof reading to delivering and collecting, even a few hours can always be put to good use. Contact either myself Viv Tallowin on 598410 or Shirley on 598882.
