PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - AUGUST 2008

Please read HEARA's report regarding a meeting with John Gummer from the Conservative Party on 5th September in the Community Hall.
We must keep this issue to the forefront to ensure the future of Hickling and the surrounding area.

The planning applications for the erection of a pair of semi-detached houses on the existing Community Hall plot, the two detached cottages on the end of Mallard Way (these two applications are subject to a Section 106 agreement being in place), and the Community Building on the recreation ground have now been granted planning permission.
The Section 106 agreement ensures all monies raised are only spent on the new Community Building.

The Parish Council would like to thank Peter Brown for his time and expertise in the drawing of the above plans. As this was done voluntarily, it saved the Parish Council a lot of money.

When the Parish Council undertook their annual property walk in August, it was remarked how tidy and colourful the planter by the village sign has looked this year.
Our thanks go to the members of the Wl for the upkeep of the planter. Their efforts are very much appreciated by everyone.

A reminder that there is still time to bid on the boats for sale.

The next Parish Council meeting is on 1st September, at 7.15pm in the Community Hall.
All are very welcome.
