PARISH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Village Plan Presentation.
The Village Plan public presentations will be on Friday. 1st September between 7-9pm, and Saturday, 2nd September between 10am-12noonand 2-4pm, at the Community Hall. Each 2-hour slot will be the same presentation, the different times being so that as many people as possible can attend. The presentation is the result of the data collected via the questionnaire.
No individual issues will be discussed, as these will be addressed at further meetings.
Parish Councillors will be present at each session to take any further queries or feedback from parishioners.

Windsurfers' Club - Parishioner Access.
Representatives of the Parish Council met with the trustees of the Windsurfers' Club to discuss the issue of parishioner access to the beach. The original lease was not accepted by Major Mills and a new lease was drawn up which omitted the clause giving parishioners access to the beach.
As the area is private property, Major Mills was concerned that it would automatically become, in time, a public right of way. The outcome of the meeting with the trustees is an Open Afternoon on Sunday, 17th September, between 2 and 4pm for parishioners to go down to the beach.
A trustee will be in attendance and all visitors will have to sign a disclaimer.
For future reference so the Parish Council and the Windsurfers' Club know how many parishioners attended, please contact either me on 598410, Shirley on 598882 or e-mail Shirley at shirley@briarleylodge.fsnet.co.uk with your name and telephone number if you are interested in visiting the beach.
If numbers exceed 36, an extra date will be arranged and talks will be held with the Club about further viewings.

The NNDC set up a Members Working Party to look at the problem of missing road signs across the region, and now additional funding has been earmarked. Signs will now be dealt with on a priority basis: priority 1 by 31.3.07, priority 2 by 31.3.08, and priority 3 to be reviewed during 2007/8. Staithe Road is priority 1 and Town Street and Heath Road are priority 2. The two Hickling village signs have been reported, but if you know of others that require attention, please contact Shirley or myself.

Norman Lamb, MP, will be visiting Hickling on his constituency tour on 4th September at 4.30pm.
He will be stopping near the Village Sign, so please feel free to visit and talk with Mr Lamb about any concerns you may have.

A reminder that if the Chapel Pit bottle banks are full, please do not leave the bottles around the bin, but take them down to the Pleasure Boat.
It is dangerous and very untidy for the bottles to be left. Contact Shirley (598882) when the bins are full and she will arrange for them to be emptied.

The Mobile Police Van's next visit is to the Chapel Car-Park on Friday, 22nd September from 10.15am-12.30pm.

The next Parish Council meeting is on Monday, 4th September, at 7.15pm in the Community Hall.
