Snow Goose
A modern style cruiser with a large bridge deck for enjoying the sun, or sitting out in the evening with a meal and a glass, watching the world go quietly by. Most suitable for two adults. A small double cabin under the bridge deck, or the saloon seating makes up into a large double bed.

Hawaiian Goose
A very popular cruiser, and the newest boat in the fleet. Most often taken by couples who enjoy the extra luxury and space given by this design. With a separate aft double cabin, the seating in the saloon also pulls out to make a large double bed.

Solan Goose
Snow Goose's big sister, all the advantages in a larger boat. She too, has a cabin under the aft deck, and the saloon will make up into a large double. Solan is suitable for a family with one or two young children, they find the aft cabin an ideal hideaway.

Grey Goose
Traditional cruiser design, ideal for two people. Very popular with our angler customers, who appreciate the large aft cockpit as a stable platform. Ducted warm air heating. Grey Goose II normally starts on a Friday/Monday, III on Saturday

Canada Goose
Our boats for the family or for groups of friends. A double aft cabin, a centre cabin with a pair of bunk beds and a single, and the saloon seating can be made into a double. Canada II is a Friday/Monday start boat, whilst Canada III starts on Saturday.

The Houseboats moored on the edge of Hickling Broad
The two houseboats on the left are the Sundew boats and the one on the right is a Sunrise.

The Sundew boat's accommodation consists of two cabins, each with double beds. The saloon has a sofa which pulls out to make another double bed. The galley is fitted out to a good standard, with cooker, oven and fridge. There is a separate toilet/ shower compartment. Heating is provided by a blown hot air system.

The Sunrise boats are smaller with only one cabin, in which is a double and a single bed. Again a double bed can be made up in the saloon. There is a well equipped galley, and a separate toilet/shower compartment. Heating is provided by space heaters.

Both types of boat have a open outside well suitable for fishing during the season, or just sitting out in the fresh air. The boats are moored on their own plot within the boatyard, backed by a grassed area. Rowing dinghies for the exclusive use of our houseboat guests are moored in the dyke at the back of the plot.

Bittern is designed to provide our guests with an unrivalled experience when exploring the Norfolk Broads, one of the family of English National Parks. She is based in Hickling, adjacent to a National Nature Reserve, where the Norfolk Wildlife Trust are working hard to re-establish the Bittern, still an endangered species in this country. You are within easy reach of Horsey Mere in a half day cruise, or further afield to somewhere like Ranworth in a whole day. For a longer voyage, she is well equipped for overnight stays.
The best of modern boat equipment has been included in this boat. The most up to date gas cooking facilities, the latest in toilet and shower fittings have been searched out. Comfortable upholstery has been specified. Blown air central heating has been included so the boat is available for most of the year, except for a few weeks around Christmas when we take a break.
We have always tried to provide our guests with the experience that we ourselves enjoy on the Norfolk Broads, whether it is fishing, sailing, bird watching, or simply " messing about in boats". We believe that, with Bittern, we will give you, our guest, an unforgettable experience.

We look forward to welcoming you here to Hickling Broad
